Plant Operations Director

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic leader to join our team as a Plant Manager at ArcelorMittal Tailored Blanks North America. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the growth and profitability of our manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement strategic plans to drive the growth and profitability of the facility, aligning with the company's overall business strategy.
- Operational Management: Oversee all aspects of production to ensure the efficient and timely manufacturing of high-quality steel blanks, ensuring compliance with all safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Team Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the management team to ensure a high-performing and motivated workforce, overseeing recruitment, training, and performance management of staff.
- Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control systems to ensure the highest standards of product quality, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance production processes and product quality.
- Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and key stakeholders, negotiating contracts and agreements to ensure favorable terms and conditions for the facility.
- Financial Management: Develop and manage the plant's budget to ensure cost-effective operations, monitoring financial performance and implementing corrective actions as needed to achieve financial targets.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully managing a manufacturing plant, preferably in the steel or metal industry.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and lean manufacturing principles.
- Excellent financial acumen with experience in budgeting and financial management.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team, making strategic decisions and driving change in a dynamic environment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including senior management, staff, and external partners.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and implement effective solutions, thinking critically and making data-driven decisions.
- Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, working collaboratively and fostering a team-oriented environment.
- Project Management: Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work in a fast-paced environment, with flexibility to handle new challenges and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
