Manufacturing Process Engineer

We are seeking a skilled Manufacturing Specialist to join our team at Magna. As a key member of our Mechatronics, Mirrors and Lighting group, you will play a critical role in driving the future of mobility by developing innovative automotive technologies.
Your Responsibilities- Develop and implement process improvements to support Manufacturing Engineering, ensuring seamless integration with existing equipment and processes.
- Analyze and evaluate continuous improvement opportunities, identifying areas for cost savings and efficiency gains.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement new business and product processes, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Investigate and optimize equipment for new business and continuous improvement opportunities, utilizing root cause problem-solving methods to analyze issues affecting internal quality and productivity.
- Develop and implement mistake/error-proofing fixtures and devices to prevent quality issues and defects.
- Prepare capital projects and acquire quotes to justify new equipment acquisitions, ensuring alignment with company budget and resource allocation.
- Conduct Engineering Feasibility Studies (EFSs) to determine the feasibility of implementing labor and material cost savings opportunities.
- Initiate Process Change Notifications (PCNs) to initiate changes or alterations to the current manufacturing process, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain up-to-date product information, including FMEA, process flow charts, instruction sheets, and other relevant documentation.
- Facilitate quality and productivity-related meetings for assigned products, ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
- Update measurables, presentation material, and other tracking documents for monthly Quality Operating System (QOS) reviews, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Identify and implement labor savings opportunities, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
- Maintain plant layout with up-to-date product line layouts, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.
- Coordinate the implementation of new production equipment and operator training, ensuring compliance with company standards and final sign-off requirements.
- Act as a technical contact between management and vendors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
- Update and obtain customer approval on packaging forms (F150) for carryover programs, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
