Junior Facilities Technician

Westcorp is on the lookout for a dedicated Junior Facilities Technician to support the operational needs of our properties. This position is ideal for a proactive and skilled individual who thrives in both independent and collaborative settings.

The selected candidate will be responsible for assisting in the execution of a thorough maintenance strategy aimed at preserving the integrity of our facilities. The role involves a variety of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Supporting the Senior Facilities Technician in implementing a robust maintenance program.
  • Managing safety protocols to ensure efficient operations and maintaining accurate records of safety checks.
  • Conducting routine inspections and addressing general maintenance requests to ensure optimal functioning of the property.
  • Troubleshooting and performing necessary repairs to avert equipment failures.
  • Overseeing waste management operations as needed.
  • Evaluating contractor work to ensure compliance with standards and prompt resolution of any issues.
  • Completing administrative tasks in accordance with company policies, including maintaining logs and documentation of all activities.
  • Prioritizing and scheduling tasks effectively to meet operational deadlines.
  • Being available for after-hours emergency response as part of the on-call rotation.
  • Performing external maintenance duties, including snow removal and site upkeep as required.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • A valid Fifth Class Power Engineering certification is essential.
  • Experience in high-rise building maintenance is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and HVAC operations is necessary.
  • Possession of basic maintenance tools is required.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular hours, including weekends, is a must.
  • A commitment to safety and a proactive approach to risk management.
  • Highly organized with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in technology and software relevant to property management is advantageous.
  • Physical capability to handle the demands of the role, including lifting and moving heavy items.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.
