Junior Facilities Technician

Westcorp is on the lookout for a dedicated Junior Facilities Technician to support our operations in property management. This position is ideal for a proactive and skilled technician who thrives in both independent and collaborative environments.

The property is a multi-faceted condominium complex featuring numerous residential units, extensive parking facilities, and a vibrant commercial area. Future expansions are planned, promising additional residential units and enhanced amenities for our community.

The ideal candidate will hold a 5th class power engineering certification and demonstrate the ability to think critically and creatively. A strong emphasis on customer service is essential, as this role involves building positive relationships with residents and tenants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Senior Facilities Technician in executing a thorough maintenance program for the property.
  • Manage safety protocols and ensure accurate documentation of operational logs.
  • Conduct regular inspections and address maintenance requests efficiently.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical systems to prevent equipment failures.
  • Oversee waste management operations as needed.
  • Evaluate contractor work to ensure compliance with standards and rectify any issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records in accordance with company policies, including work orders and maintenance logs.
  • Organize and prioritize tasks to meet operational deadlines.
  • Respond to emergency situations as part of an on-call rotation.
  • Perform external maintenance duties, including snow removal and site upkeep.

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid ABSA Fifth Class Power Engineering certification.
  • Experience in high-rise building operations is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems and HVAC operations.
  • Must possess basic maintenance tools.
  • Flexibility to work outside standard hours, including weekends.
  • A safety-conscious mindset and a commitment to maintaining a safe environment.
  • Highly organized and results-driven, capable of working independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficient in technology, including smartphone and computer applications.
  • Physically capable of lifting and moving heavy items.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.
  • Additional responsibilities may be assigned by management.
