We are a dynamic organization seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Facility Operations Technician to become a vital part of our team.
Employment Type: Full-Time
Reporting to: Chief Operating Engineer
Shift: Monday to Friday – 7 am to 3:30 pm
On call: as required
POSITION SUMMARY
The Facility Operations Technician is accountable for the secure and effective management, maintenance, and servicing of the organization's facilities and refrigeration systems, ensuring minimal disruption to operations, safeguarding employee welfare, and maintaining product integrity at optimal temperatures.
- Champions a culture where Health and Safety is the foremost priority, providing guidance and support for Health & Safety initiatives within the team.
- Collaborates closely with all team members across various facilities.
- Conducts routine inspections on refrigeration systems and performs necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Available for on-call responsibilities as scheduled.
- Conducts regular tours of the facility to ensure safety and support operational activities.
- Adheres to preventative maintenance protocols to reduce operational disruptions.
- Monitors and optimizes equipment performance to reduce utility expenses.
- Enforces established safety, health, contamination, and cleanliness policies to minimize injuries, production downtime, damage, and product contamination.
- Operates in compliance with the Code of Business Conduct, company policies, and all relevant regulations governing the workplace.
- Engages in additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.
- Proficiency with ammonia refrigeration systems is crucial for this role.
- A valid Refrigeration B Operator Certificate is required; a 4th class Power Engineer certificate is preferred.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A passion for delivering exceptional customer service.
- Open to change and possesses a philosophy of continuous improvement.
- Comprehensive understanding of provincial regulations related to operating engineering and refrigeration, as well as building and fire codes, local bylaws, and health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to swiftly identify issues and implement solutions.
- Exhibits a positive and professional demeanor with a hands-on, team-oriented approach.
- Capable of working in extreme temperatures as required.
