Correctional Health Services (CHS) is a dedicated program focused on providing healthcare for individuals in BC's provincial correctional facilities. Position Overview:
- Conduct screenings and evaluations for newly admitted clients within a 24-hour timeframe, collaborating closely with the Health Care Manager and BC Corrections personnel.
- Utilize evidence-based assessment tools to evaluate mental health and substance use issues, with a strong emphasis on trauma-informed care and diversity considerations.
- Facilitate referrals for in-depth assessments by interdisciplinary team members as required.
- Document findings, engage in clinical discussions, and work collaboratively with the team to provide optimal support for clients.
- Gather statistical data, prepare reports, and present findings as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or a related field
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in mental health or substance use treatment environments

- Comprehensive understanding of prevalent mental health disorders, substance use issues, and conflict resolution strategies
