Your primary responsibilities:
This position focuses on assisting the MHSU Counselling & Treatment department.

The Substance Use Counselor plays a crucial role within the Hospitals & Communities Integrated Services (HCIS) health care team, contributing to a specialized MHSU multi-disciplinary team. The main objective is to provide timely, evidence-based interventions and clinical support for individuals dealing with substance use challenges or dual diagnoses.

Operating at an advanced practice level, the Substance Use Counselor performs assessments, delivers treatments, coordinates services, and provides urgent interventions for complex cases, often involving co-occurring disorders and significant functional challenges across various life areas.

As a lead clinician, the Substance Use Counselor employs a variety of customized treatment approaches for individuals, groups, and their families.

Work Schedule:
Shifts are arranged from Monday to Friday, between 08:00 – 16:30 hours. This is an on-call role, meaning hours are not guaranteed and may vary weekly. Many successful careers within our organization begin with on-call positions and can lead to permanent or temporary roles.
