Job Title: Regional Administrator - Inclusive Education

Heritage Christian Online School (HCOS) is a K-12 Provincial Online Learning School, providing fully accredited, Christian education to students in BC. As one of Western Canada's largest online schools, we connect teachers with families and students to provide guidance and support via personalized, online, and face-to-face options.

Job Summary:

The Regional Administrator - Inclusive Education will assist the Director of Inclusive Education with regional leadership and administrative tasks, including supporting Inclusive Education Case Managers/teachers and Learning Support Coaches.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with other school administrators to promote mission, vision, values, and school-wide goals in conjunction with the Directors of Inclusive Education, planning and contributing towards the success of the division, including participation in the Regional Leadership Team (RLT).
  • Provide professional development for K-12 teachers and school administration on topics related to supporting students through Inclusive Education.
  • Hire Inclusive Education Case Managers/teachers and Learning Support Coaches following the KCCS hiring process.
  • Assign students to Inclusive Education Case Managers/teachers and Learning Support Coaches.
  • Offer support, training, expertise, oversight, accountability, and leadership to Inclusive Education Case Managers/teachers as they create and implement student programs, including student learning and individual education plans, report cards, and case notes.
  • Offer support, training, expertise, oversight, accountability, and leadership to regional Learning Support Coaches, including approving vacation, personal days, and sick days, and staff evaluations.
  • Work with the Registrar to interview prospective families and admit Inclusive Education students.
  • Collaborate with K-9 Regional Administrators on intake for students with learning needs.
  • Foster and maintain positive relationships between parents, teachers, and education assistants within school-wide, regional, and Inclusive Education departments.
  • Support regional Learning Groups (LG) activities, including Community Connections (CCs) and CC+s.
  • Lead regional Student at Risk Teams (SRTs).
  • Assist in coordinating category designation applications and reviews, and participate in the review process for categories A-R.
  • Manage financial approvals related to Inclusive Education student support plans and the overall regional budget(s) A-R and LS.
  • Support Inclusive Education Case Managers/teachers and Learning Support Coaches in maintaining consistency and adhering to processes in collaboration with the Inclusive Education and Education Assistant offices.
  • Stay current through professional development opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrated commitment and lifestyle reflective of the KCCS Foundational Beliefs.
  • Current BC Certified teacher with Inclusive Education specialty and experience.
  • Minimum of 1-year HCOS Inclusive Education experience.
  • Familiarity with HCOS Inclusive Education systems.
  • Knowledge of the BC Ministry's Special Education Categories.
  • Ability to manage change and adapt to varied workloads.
  • Excellent conflict management, critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Proactive, systems thinking, relationship, and solution-oriented.
  • Technically proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
  • Preference to those living in the region they are supporting.
