Information Technology Services (ITS) division. Reporting directly to the Manager of Information Technology Services, the Applications Administrator will oversee the upkeep and integration of
enterprise applications that fulfill the operational needs of the organization, including Information Systems (IS), Communications, Safety, and Security services. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with
existing Network/Application/Systems Administrators and other technical support staff within the ITS department.
The primary responsibility of the Applications Administrator is to systematically assess, design, implement, maintain, and support the
hospital's application systems that are vital to core organizational functions, ensuring optimal availability. This role also entails working in partnership with various stakeholders, internal departments, and hospital programs to identify business requirements and implement effective solutions that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Installation, configuration, upgrades, monitoring, and maintenance of server applications and databases to meet corporate needs.
- Conducting application and database tuning, optimization, performance monitoring, and implementing efficiency enhancements.
- Planning for application and database capacity and performance to accommodate future growth.
- Providing expert guidance for uncommon issues that cannot be resolved by Tier I/II support.
- Establishing, executing, and maintaining change control and testing protocols for modifications to applications and databases.
- Designing and implementing redundant systems, policies, and procedures for disaster recovery, data migrations, and data archiving to safeguard data integrity.
- Managing application and database security, along with data integrity.
- Participating in product selection and procurement processes.
- Leading and assisting with IT application and system projects in collaboration with stakeholders and vendors.
- Creating and implementing processes and documentation to facilitate transitions to operational phases.
- Developing lifecycle replacement plans, including budgetary requirements, timing, and resource needs.
- Collaborating with other experts and vendors as necessary.
- Providing training to the user community for supported applications.
The ideal candidate will be an organized and adaptable individual capable of working independently, possessing exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and demonstrating the ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters professionally. Strong time management skills and the capacity to adjust swiftly in a dynamic environment are essential.
Qualifications:
- University degree or diploma in a relevant field, or a combination of education, training, and experience.
- A minimum of three years of experience in supporting corporate systems and applications.
- Experience with Office 365, Teams, and Azure Active Directory is advantageous.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills are required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential.
- Experience in Microsoft SQL database management is a plus.
- Project management experience is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Meditech Expanse is an asset.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of safety and preventing adverse health events within the organization.
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset.
A Criminal Reference Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Check, conducted within the last six months is a requirement.
