Job Summary

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Director of Indigenous Workforce Experience - Strategic Partnerships to join our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with People Team leaders and Indigenous Health leadership to develop comprehensive Indigenous workforce experience strategies aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement policies and programs that address the unique well-being and inclusivity needs of Indigenous employees.
  • Lead the development of culturally relevant support systems, wellness programs, and resources for Indigenous employees.
  • Provide consultation and advice on the effectiveness of programs and initiatives, and make recommendations for adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Partner with People Team leaders to develop inclusive recruitment strategies to attract, hire, and onboard Indigenous talent.
  • Provide expertise and advice on culturally safe approaches and methodologies for collecting data on diversity metrics and candidate/employee feedback.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
  • Five years of recent experience in managing strategic and operational change initiatives, and facilitating consultation with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience working with or for Indigenous organizations and/or programs, and developing working relationships with Indigenous communities.
  • In-depth understanding and knowledge of Indigenous Cultural Safety and Indigenous cultures within Vancouver Coastal Health's service region.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification or an interest in completing certification in Indigenous Human Resources, such as the Certified Indigenous Human Resources Professional (CIHRP) designation.
  • Experience partnering with First Nations organizations and communities, post-secondary academic organizations, and Indigenous career development organizations.
