Director, Indigenous Patient and Family Experience Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Indigenous Wellness and Reconciliation program. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the program's strategic direction, developing and implementing initiatives to improve Indigenous patient experience, and building strong relationships with Indigenous communities and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement the Indigenous Wellness and Reconciliation action plan, aligning with Providence Health Care's mission, vision, and values.
- Lead strategic analysis and evolution of service models for the Indigenous wellness liaison program, including workforce planning and development.
- Ensure effective processes are in place to assess Indigenous patient risks, identify risk mitigation strategies, and monitor risk throughout a patient's visit/interaction with PHC.
- Develop and strengthen external linkages with community, education institutes, and other health-related organizations to promote a connected continuum of care for Indigenous patients.
- Provide leadership, guidance, and direction to staff, building effective partnerships and credibility within the organization and with external partners.
- Master's degree in Health or Business Administration, Leadership, or Organizational Development, plus 7-10 years of related organizational development experience, preferably in an Indigenous health care context.
- Strong interpersonal and team-based skills, with the ability to motivate and influence organizational leaders, physicians, staff, and volunteers.
- Demonstrated leadership and initiative in developing, implementing, and evaluating Indigenous Wellness services and programming.
- Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous health and wellness, cultural protocols, and Indigenous community organizations and services.
