Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as a Student Engagement Manager at Langara College. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and manage student conversion and orientation activities, co-curricular and volunteer programming, and other strategic initiatives that foster opportunities for student engagement and leadership development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and management for student conversion and orientation activities, co-curricular and volunteer programming, and other strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with students, staff, and faculty to develop, implement, and maintain activities and programs that lead to increased student engagement and improved academic success/retention.
  • Implement a systematic and comprehensive approach to addressing the unique and complex needs of a diverse student body.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote student engagement and leadership development.
  • Manage and oversee the development and implementation of programs and services that support student success and retention.
  • Develop and manage budgets and resources to support program and service delivery.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure alignment and integration of student engagement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Education and/or Leadership or other relevant discipline.
  • Minimally five (5) years of recent related experience in progressively senior positions in a student-centred area within a higher education setting.
  • Considerable supervisory experience within a unionized environment.
  • Comprehensive experience in student engagement and in delivering diverse programs to post-secondary students.
  • Demonstrated experience in planning and implementing programs in a higher education institution.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in enrolment management.
  • Considerable experience in planning virtual and in-person small and large-scaled events.
