Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Student Experience Officer at Northern Lights College. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a student engagement plan, coordinating events, and working closely with the student council.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a student engagement plan to create a positive and inclusive campus environment
  • Coordinate student orientations, events, and activities to enhance the student experience
  • Work closely with the student council to organize elections, provide budget guidance, and offer administrative support
  • Collaborate with other departments and volunteers to create successful events
  • Manage event logistics, including venue selection, catering, and audio-visual equipment
  • Develop and maintain relationships with students, faculty, and staff to promote a sense of community
  • Monitor and report on event attendance, feedback, and budget

Requirements:

  • Certificate or diploma in event planning or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of related experience in event planning, student services, or a related field
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to make presentations to groups
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines
  • High level of energy and organization, with a strong attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher
  • Food Safe and Serving It Right certification
  • Valid class 5 driver's license

Working Conditions:

  • Operational base located in Dawson Creek, with regional responsibilities
  • Expected schedule: 3.5 hours per day, with 4 daytime workdays and 1 late afternoon or early evening workday
