Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the position of Student Experience Officer at Northern Lights College. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing a student engagement plan to create a vibrant atmosphere of student life on campus.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a student engagement plan to enhance the overall student experience
  • Coordinate student orientations and other student events
  • Work within a budget to plan and execute events
  • Facilitate event invitations, coordinate speakers and performers, and coordinate with other departments and volunteers
  • Provide budget guidance to the campus-based Student Council Treasurer and offer secretarial services as needed
  • Organize student council elections and provide support to the student council

Requirements:

  • Certificate or diploma in event planning or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 2 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Superior interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to make presentations to groups, multi-task, and prioritize while meeting tight deadlines
  • High level of energy and organization
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office (including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Publisher)
  • Food Safe and Serving It Right certification
  • Valid class 5 driver's license

Working Conditions:

  • Operational base located in Dawson Creek, with regional responsibilities
  • Expected schedule: 3.5 hours per day, with four daytime workdays and one late afternoon or early evening workday
