About the Role

The Director of Organization Effectiveness and People Services will provide visionary leadership to SFU's Strategic Business Partner Services team, driving exceptional HR service delivery and fostering collaborative relationships with university departments.

This role requires a seasoned HR professional with a proven track record of enabling teams to provide relevant, consistent, and timely advice and service. The successful candidate will have experience applying a strategic lens to the design and delivery of transformative people-centric solutions, aligned with inclusion principles and SFU's core value of equity and belonging.

The Director will lead the development and implementation of strategies, programs, and initiatives to enhance HR service delivery, leveraging data and insights to build convincing business cases for change. A strong focus on strategy execution and influencing in a complex environment is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide operational and strategic leadership to the Strategic Business Partner Services team
  • Develop and implement strategies, programs, and initiatives to enhance HR service delivery
  • Lead the team to provide expert guidance on HR policies, programs, and services to support organizational effectiveness
  • Cultivate strong partnerships with academic and administrative units
  • Provide professional advice on complex HR issues
  • Identify and champion best practices in HR service delivery
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, and a professional HR designation (CPHR) is an asset. Proven experience in a leadership position within a large, diverse, and complex unionized environment is required.
