About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to lead our Partnerships Hub at Simon Fraser University. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic partnerships that drive revenue growth and enhance the university's reputation.

The Director will play a critical role in managing our partnership portfolio, identifying new opportunities, and building relationships with key stakeholders. They will work closely with our Vice-President, Research and Innovation and Vice-President Advancement and Alumni Engagement portfolios to position SFU as a proactive and responsive partner to industry, government, and community organizations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement strategic partnerships that drive revenue growth and enhance the university's reputation
  • Manage our partnership portfolio, identifying new opportunities and building relationships with key stakeholders
  • Work closely with our Vice-President, Research and Innovation and Vice-President Advancement and Alumni Engagement portfolios to position SFU as a proactive and responsive partner
  • Develop and pitch new partner initiatives to increase revenue generation or reputation
  • Manage large, concurrent projects/initiatives with multiple stakeholders and partners
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Business Administration, Policy or a relevant discipline and eight years of related experience, including experience in strategic account management and building and delivering on partner-driven initiatives in a diverse corporate environment.

  • Expert knowledge of partnership strategies, tools and tactics and best practices in account management
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with executive decision-makers in industry, government, community groups and industry associations
  • Proven ability to successfully develop and pitch new partner initiatives with the aim of increasing revenue generation or reputation
  • Excellent interpersonal, listening, communication (oral, written, presentation), and relationship management skills
  • Excellent leadership, coaching and mentorship skills
