Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Implementation
    • Develop and implement engaging activities that promote cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development in children.
    • Customize activities based on observations of children's interests and needs.
    • Participate in required curriculum training sessions and professional development days to enhance pedagogical practices.
  • Child Development
    • Observe and assess children's behavior, progress, and development.
    • Complete daily observations and maintain accurate records of children's progress.
    • Maintain open and ongoing dialogue with families about their children's development.
  • Classroom Management
    • Provide a physically safe and emotionally supportive environment that is inclusive of all children.
    • Establish consistent rules and routines that promote a sense of security and stability.
    • Ensure a clear and organized classroom environment, addressing any health and safety concerns.
  • Communication
    • Build strong relationships with children and their families.
    • Establish open lines of communication with the Centre Director and fellow team members.
    • Participate in team meetings to foster a collaborative, respectful, and fun work environment.
  • Administrative
    • Interact with regulatory bodies and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with licensing requirements.
    • Participate in the annual age-appropriate environment ratings scale.
    • Follow the Centre's Quality Assurance cycle when using program evaluation tools.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in an Early Childhood Educator position is an asset.
  • Early Childhood education, including:
    • RECE Registered Early Childhood Educator.
    • ECE Early Childhood Educator.
    • CYW Child Youth Worker.
    • CYC Child and Youth Care.
    • ECA Early Childhood Assistant.
    • EA Educational Assistant.
Ministry Requirements
  • 2-Step TB.
  • Updated Immunizations (Tetanus, MMR).
  • Vulnerable Sector Check.
  • Standard First Aid & CPR Level C.
