Position Overview:

The Salvation Army is in search of a dedicated Front-Line Supervisor to oversee essential operations within our shelter environment. This role is pivotal in supporting the Assistant Director with the daily management of shelter activities.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Manage shelter functions to ensure clients receive appropriate support and care.
  • Engage in case management and facilitate client discussions.
  • Examine incident documentation and client records.
  • Coordinate the transition of clients into the shelter.
  • Assist in the development of programs and planning of special events.
  • Supervise Frontline Workers in accordance with established policies.
  • Conduct performance assessments and evaluations.
  • Support staff in applying advanced case management strategies.

ORGANIZATIONAL EXPECTATIONS:

  • Uphold the values and standards of the organization.
  • Participate actively in staff meetings and training opportunities.
  • Review and adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Contribute suggestions for operational enhancements.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This is a full-time role with adaptable working hours.
  • Work will be conducted in various shelter settings.

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of a 2-year Diploma in Humanities or Social Services.
  • Certification in First Aid/CPR and Conflict Resolution is required.
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience in the sector serving the homeless population.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Strong communication abilities.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
