Contract Shelter Supervisors (Multiple Locations in Scarborough)

Homes First is seeking experienced professionals to fill Contract Shelter Supervisor positions in multiple locations across Scarborough.

Job Summary:

We are looking for individuals who possess excellent leadership and communication skills to oversee the daily operations of our shelters. As a Contract Shelter Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth day-to-day functioning of the shelter, including managing staff, coordinating services, and maintaining a safe and supportive environment for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage a team of staff to provide high-quality services to residents
  • Coordinate and implement programs and services to meet the needs of residents
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Monitor and report on shelter operations and resident outcomes

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in a related field (e.g. social work, community development)
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role in a social services or community setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
