About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Marketing Communications Specialist to join our team at Manulife. As a key member of our Group Benefits Marketing and Distribution teams, you will play a critical role in creating customized client-specific content and communications that help Plan Members understand and use their benefits plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement effective marketing strategies to engage employees in their health journey, enhancing their understanding of benefits plan design, administration, and industry standards.
  • Collaborate with external clients to analyze their communications requirements and provide expert consultation on marketing pieces, including creative communications and design solutions.
  • Manage relationships with clients, working independently or with marketing peers to determine best tactics and approaches to meet marketing requirements.
  • Develop detailed communications production schedules to ensure timely delivery of materials.
  • Engage corporate clients directly, providing new ideas for effective benefits messaging communication.
  • Write, edit, and coordinate production of marketing/communications materials, including promotional plans, campaigns, emails, posters, postcards, letters, and intranet content.
  • Support senior team members by developing and implementing aspects of complex projects.
  • Manage moderate to high exposure strategic projects, working with other teams to develop communications for cross-functional initiatives.
Requirements
  • Demonstrated written communication skills, with the ability to write superior communications for clients in a clear and simple way.
  • Strong listening skills, with the ability to analyze client communications requirements.
  • Experience in editing, with a strong understanding of marketing communications theories and practices.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated analytical skills to identify content most important and useful to the intended audience.
  • Strong influencing, interpersonal skills, and negotiation skills, with confidence in speaking directly with clients and managing their expectations.
  • Demonstrated relationship management skills with areas such as Design Services, Translation, and external vendors.
