About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Procurement Manager to join our team at Canadian Tire Corporation. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of merchandising spend and developing strategies to maximize value for our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute procurement plans to optimize value for our merchandising spend
  • Manage a team of Senior Procurement Analysts to achieve procurement goals and objectives
  • Work closely with merchandising leaders to develop and align on procurement strategies
  • Oversee fact-based analytics to drive insights and recommendations
  • Support improving vendor relationships and negotiating optimal results
  • Identify and action opportunities to create improved cost value for the organization
  • Develop and deliver training material to key stakeholders
  • Manage category projects concurrently to ensure optimal use of team resources
  • Lead and/or support other ad hoc procurement projects
Requirements
  • Proven track record of strong procurement results
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Significant credibility with merchants
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication skills to audiences from Analyst to VP level
  • Global sourcing experience a definite asset
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships
  • Ability to lead a direct and indirect team
  • Procurement experience or related retail buying experience, 5-10 years
