As a prominent leader in its sector, the company is poised for substantial expansion in the coming years and is currently seeking a Head of Procurement Strategy.

Job Overview

The Head of Procurement Strategy will spearhead the comprehensive development and execution of a premier global supply chain and purchasing framework throughout the organization, encompassing supplier quality to facilitate the achievement of corporate goals.

  • Oversee the effectiveness of the Procurement Department, which comprises three team members (ensuring appropriate structure and roles, along with management of responsibilities and performance).
  • Architect the supply chain for all upcoming projects (including supplier selection, cost assessment, supplier evaluation, risk management, etc.).
  • Cultivate alliances with top-tier suppliers to guarantee an optimal supply chain.
  • Deploy diversified procurement strategies for essential products to secure supply and mitigate reliance on dominant suppliers.
  • Beyond standard procurement responsibilities, this position must deliver results in the following areas:
  • Material Cost Efficiency: Ensure the most favorable total material costs for clients.
  • Supplier Partnerships: Build a network of collaborators that align with the company's commitment to client success.
  • Contract Negotiations: Direct contract discussions with suppliers to secure advantageous terms, competitive pricing, and service level agreements.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field such as electrical/mechanical engineering.
  • At least 10 years of experience in supply chain and procurement within the manufacturing or industrial fabrication industry, including a minimum of 3 years of successful experience leading a purchasing/sourcing team.
  • Essential Requirement: A minimum of 2 years of sourcing experience with products such as copper, sheet metal, casting, magnets, bearings, and machined metallic components.
  • Demonstrated success in negotiating with suppliers and managing complex contracts for the provision of electro-mechanical components and/or sub-assemblies.
  • A dynamic, goal-driven, and results-focused individual.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish and/or French is advantageous.
