We are currently seeking a Mechanical Product Engineer or Technologist to join our Dewatering Group. This role, reporting to the Engineering Manager and the Dewatering Product Manager, is pivotal in supporting our Screw Press, Disc Filter, and Twin Wire Press Service product lines. You will engage closely with the product team, customers, and suppliers to ensure the seamless execution of rebuilds, upgrades, field service, and spare parts management.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting and executing rebuild projects.
  • Carrying out agreed delivery project tasks.
  • Developing repair scopes and quotations.
  • Implementing repair protocols effectively.
  • Providing manufacturing support as necessary.
  • Traveling to vendors and customers as required.

Additional Activities:

  • Collaborating with Regional and Global Product Group teams to design and strategize new products.
  • Maintaining and updating process and maintenance data.
  • Overseeing the installed equipment base.
  • Enhancing your personal skill set in various aspects of the Product Lines, including assembly, engineering, purchasing, and sales.
  • Analyzing product data and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Visiting customer mill sites to provide product expertise and sales support as needed.

Required Competencies and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in welding and machining of stainless steel.
  • Essential mechanical competencies.
  • Experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry processes.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing, fabrication drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% across Canada, the USA, and Mexico.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada.

Desired Competencies and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical engineering; relevant industry experience will be considered.
  • Exceptional technical documentation skills.
  • Ability to organize, coordinate, and lead projects effectively.
