We are currently seeking a Mechanical Product Engineer or Technologist to join our Dewatering Group. In this role, you will report to the Engineering Manager and collaborate closely with the Dewatering Product Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to support the Screw Press, Disc Filter, and Twin Wire Press Service product lines through effective teamwork with product teams, clients, and suppliers. This encompasses activities such as rebuilds, upgrades, field service, and spare parts management.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in the execution of rebuild projects.
  • Carrying out assigned project tasks efficiently.
  • Developing repair scopes and providing quotations.
  • Implementing established repair protocols.
  • Offering manufacturing support as required.
  • Traveling to vendors and clients as necessary.

Additional Activities:

  • Collaborating with Regional and Global Product Group teams to design and enhance new products and strategies.
  • Maintaining and updating process and maintenance documentation.
  • Overseeing the installed equipment base.
  • Enhancing your skills across various aspects of the Product Lines, including assembly, engineering, purchasing, and sales, to boost efficiency and quality.
  • Analyzing product data and customer feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Visiting customer mill sites to provide product expertise and sales support as needed.

Required Competencies and Skills:

  • Strong knowledge and experience in welding and machining of stainless steel.
  • Essential mechanical competencies.
  • Experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry processes.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing, fabrication drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills in English and French.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% across Canada, the USA, and Mexico.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada.

Desired Competencies and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in mechanical engineering; relevant industry experience will be considered.
  • Exceptional technical documentation abilities.
  • Capability to organize, coordinate, and lead projects effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills for evaluating complex data sets.
  • Resourceful, self-motivated, and goal-oriented while being an effective team player.
  • Ability to present, clarify, and propose solutions to variances and issues.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with SAP is an asset.
  • Strong time management skills.
