Product Development Engineer - Lighting Solutions

We are seeking a highly skilled Product Development Engineer to join our team at LumenWerx. As a key member of our Product Development team, you will be responsible for designing and developing new light fixtures and improving existing ones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement product design concepts from initial brief to commercialization, production setup, and launch.
  • Design and create three-dimensional CAD models using Solidworks.
  • Produce detailed drawings for the fabrication of mock-ups and prototypes for testing and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to understand manufacturing restrictions and limitations.
  • Stay up-to-date with fabrication techniques, including sheet-metal, metal and plastic extrusion, die-cast, thermoform, and plastic injection.
  • Benchmark competitive products and identify key selling points.
  • Support the development of mass manufacturing processes.
  • Manage project scope, timeline, and budget as the project lead.
  • Perform structural calculations and simulations.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Expert-level proficiency in Solidworks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Full proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to think creatively and bring innovative ideas to the table.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experience in the lighting industry is a strong asset.
  • Knowledge of UL safety standards is a strong asset.
