Job Summary

Solution SFT is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Mechanical Engineering team, you will be responsible for the detailed design, development, and sustainment of our medical simulation and training products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute design and development plans for the Medical Simulator family of products.
  • Coordinate hardware integration tasks and design reviews with cross-functional teams throughout product development.
  • Ensure a clear understanding of all technical requirements for assigned projects.
  • Provide technical expertise during subjective and objective evaluations of training devices.
  • Collaborate with sales representatives and medical professionals to ensure system requirements are met.
  • Work with multidisciplinary teams to translate biomedical functional system requirements into mechanical design solutions.
  • Lead and execute mechanical product development through the entire product lifecycle.
  • Develop and maintain DFMEA documentation to manage risks and improve quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant work experience in new product development.
  • 4+ years of relevant mechanical design experience, SolidWorks experience an asset.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced development environment and enjoy design challenges.
  • Experience in design for biomedical applications, pneumatic and hydraulic systems, and electro-mechanical systems considered an asset.
  • Experience in DFM (Design for Manufacturability) of injection molded, cast, machined, and sheet metal parts.
  • Experience working in a hands-on lab and prototyping environments.
  • Strong team player with a sense of initiative, results-oriented, and good team spirit.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Creative mindset and talent to turn ideas into quality products.
