Shipping Operations Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shipping Supervisor to join our team at Atlantic Packaging. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the receiving, warehousing, and distribution of materials and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise the receiving, warehousing, and distribution services to meet customer delivery requirements
  • Ensure adequate equipment is available for operations and sufficient drivers are assigned to meet customer requests
  • Identify and resolve issues that may impact deliveries or warehouse operations
  • Manage and develop shipping staff, including training, performance reviews, and recruitment
  • Monitor and improve shipping operations to reduce costs while maintaining excellent service levels
  • Ensure stock is moved efficiently and cleared from production lines
  • Conduct regular crew meetings and maintain accurate records
  • Enforce company policies and procedures
  • Develop and manage weekly crew schedules
  • Monitor and report overtime

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related field or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years of experience in a shipping supervisory role in a high-volume manufacturing environment
  • Strong leadership skills, independent thinking, and organizational abilities
  • Able to work rotating shifts and be available on-call for emergency deliveries
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and critical thinking skills
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and systems
  • Knowledge of OH&S Act, First Aid, and CPR
