Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Culinary Specialist to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. As a key member of our Food Services department, you will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality meals to our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and implement regular and therapeutic menus, ensuring that all meals are prepared to the highest standards.
  • Prepare and serve food and nourishments, including evening meals, following standardized recipes and production sheets.
  • Ensure that all meals are served on time, at the correct temperatures, and in portion-controlled quantities.
  • Monitor the quality and quantity of food supplies, proper operation of kitchen equipment, and alert management to any issues.
  • Direct Dietary Aides in basic food preparation procedures and serving activities at meal times.
  • Maintain all required records, including menu changes, delivery receipts, and temperature checks.
Requirements
  • Must have experience in large quantity institutional, health care, restaurant, or hospitality settings.
  • Preferred qualifications include Chef training or culinary management certification, Red Seal Cook Trade Certification, and a Safe Food Handling Certificate.
  • Must possess a Vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check and be able to work safely, following established safety practices and procedures.
  • Ability to read and write English, and understand moderately complex verbal and written instructions in English.
  • Proven ability to provide direction and lead others within a busy environment.
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position that requires flexibility to work days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The successful candidate must be able to work safely and follow established safety practices and procedures.
