Position Overview: We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Markham. This role will involve engaging in a diverse range of projects that encompass code compliance, system design and evaluation, and fire modeling for a varied clientele across Canada.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and provide technical support for plumbing, HVAC, and fire protection systems in both new and retrofit projects.
  2. Conduct engineering studies and assessments, accompanied by detailed reports.
  3. Transform markups into functional CAD or Revit MEP drawings.
  4. Prepare and compile project-specific specifications.
  5. Facilitate communication with clients and other consultants.
  6. Oversee project timelines, coordinate with other disciplines, and ensure quality deliverables.
  7. Review shop drawings and respond to contractor inquiries during construction.
  8. Prepare change notices, orders, and payment certificates as part of contract management.
  9. Conduct site surveys during design phases and perform routine site inspections during construction to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  10. Assist in the preparation of proposals and fee structures.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Professional Engineer license in Ontario, with eligibility to practice in Quebec being a plus.
  • 8-10 years of experience in designing plumbing, drainage, HVAC, fire protection, and BAS systems.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC control systems.
  • Familiarity with relevant codes and standards, including OBC, ASHRAE, NFPA, CSA, and the National Plumbing Code.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD MEP and Revit MEP.
  • Good command of MS Office and Excel.
  • Self-motivation and excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Flexibility to manage varying workloads and tight deadlines.
  • Capability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in French is advantageous.
