Job Summary

The Senior Mechanical Systems Engineer at GE Power is responsible for leading the development of mechanical systems for our Small Modular Reactor (SMR) design. This role requires a strong technical background in mechanical engineering and experience in managing complex projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management
    • Lead the development of mechanical systems for the SMR design
    • Manage a team of engineers to ensure project deliverables are met
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and mitigate project risks
  • Technical Expertise
    • Develop and implement mechanical systems designs that meet business needs
    • Conduct analysis and design work to support requirements specifications
    • Interface with customers and stakeholders to ensure project deliverables are met
  • Process Improvement
    • Develop and implement processes to improve team and customer productivity
    • Identify and implement opportunities for cost savings and efficiency gains
    • Collaborate with the licensing organization to ensure regulatory compliance
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering
  • Experience
    • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in an engineering role
  • Certifications
    • Canadian PE Certification
Preferred Qualifications
  • Education
    • Master's degree in Mechanical or Nuclear Engineering
  • Skills
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
    • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
    • Established project management skills
Eligibility Requirements

Minimum in-person attendance of 2 days per week in the office

GE Power will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in Canada for this opening.
