Position Overview:

The role of the Senior Mechanical Engineer focuses on delivering comprehensive mechanical engineering solutions for a variety of building types. This position is integral to our Integrated Engineering Design (IED) group, which is dedicated to providing innovative and reliable infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop designs, specifications, and drawings for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and drainage systems applicable to diverse building projects.
  • Engage with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors to gather project requirements and address specific design challenges.
  • Prepare and present detailed technical reports outlining the nature, progress, and outcomes of design assignments.
  • Recognize and address the interdependencies of assigned tasks with other engineering disciplines, ensuring effective coordination.
  • Conduct construction reviews, including site assessments to monitor the progress of construction activities.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineering staff.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in mechanical system design within the consulting engineering sector.
  • Possession of a current P.Eng. license.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Strong proficiency in software tools, particularly AutoCAD and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • LEED Accreditation is advantageous.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
