Job Opportunity: Chief Administrative Officer

The District of Invermere is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Administrative Officer to lead our organization. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our community.

About the Role

The Chief Administrative Officer will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the District, ensuring the effective implementation of our policies and programs. This role requires a strong understanding of municipal government and public sector leadership, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead with Integrity: Provide guidance and support to Council and District staff, ensuring that our organization operates with transparency and accountability.
  • Develop and Inspire Others: Foster a culture of collaboration and innovation, empowering staff to achieve their full potential.
  • Deliver Service Excellence: Ensure that our services are delivered in a timely and effective manner, meeting the needs of our community.
  • Communicate Effectively: Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including Council, staff, and the broader community.
  • Drive Strategic Orientation: Develop and implement strategic plans that align with the District's vision and goals.
  • Build Organizational Community: Foster a culture of inclusivity and respect, promoting a positive and productive work environment.
  • Exemplify Accountability: Ensure that our organization operates in a responsible and transparent manner, meeting the highest standards of governance and accountability.
Requirements
  • A university degree in a relevant field, such as public administration or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in a senior leadership role in the public or private sector.
  • Strong understanding of strategic planning, business plans, and budgeting.
  • Knowledge and experience in matters concerning relevant provincial and federal legislation.
What We Offer
