Immunization Requirements:
A current immunization record is mandatory, including two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine series recognized by Health Canada or the World Health Organization, unless an approved exemption applies under the Ontario Human Rights Code.
Employee Benefits:
This role includes 8% vacation pay and 14% pay in lieu of benefits, along with access to the Employee & Family Assistance Program and CGMH Perkopolis discounts. CGMH supports the Health Care Providers Group Insurance Plan, which offers group benefits for you and your eligible dependents upon enrollment.
Required Qualifications:
- Diploma from an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Successful completion of the CBRC examination
- Valid General Certificate of Registration with the CRTO
- Current certifications in NRP, ACLS, and BCLS
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff, and volunteers
- Compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act
- Proficient communication skills in English (both written and verbal); proficiency in additional languages is an asset
- Basic computer literacy
- Dedication to ongoing professional development
- Ability to perform essential duties, including physical tasks such as patient transfers and mobility assistance
- Proven record of excellent attendance and performance
- Strong organizational and prioritization abilities
- Capacity to work independently and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team
Preferred Experience/Education:
- PALS certification
- CRE certification
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive Respiratory Therapy services to the hospital, catering to both adult and pediatric populations, including neonates.
- Assess patients and formulate appropriate treatment plans.
- Educate and counsel patients and their families.
- Advocate for continuous quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
- Conduct Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing.
- Perform pulmonary function assessments.
