About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Collingwood General and Marine Hospital. As a Respiratory Therapist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the hospital's mission to deliver exceptional healthcare services.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate patients and develop treatment plans to address respiratory-related issues.
- Provide respiratory therapy coverage to the hospital, including adult, pediatric, and neonatal populations.
- Teach and counsel patients and families on respiratory health and disease management.
- Promote continuous quality improvement in respiratory care services.
- Perform timely and accurate documentation of patient care.
- Conduct pulmonary function testing and electrocardiogram (ECG) tests as required.
Requirements
- College diploma from a recognized Respiratory Program.
- Current certification in Basic Life Support (BCLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
- General Certificate of Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO).
- Current NRP certification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical records.
Preferred Qualifications
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification.
- CRE (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification.
