About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Meat Department Manager to join our team at Loblaw Companies Limited. As a key member of our store operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our meat department, ensuring that it meets or exceeds sales and profitability goals.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Department Operations: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the meat department, including managing inventory levels, coordinating with other departments to ensure timely replenishment, and maintaining a clean and safe department for customers and employees.
  2. Team Leadership: Train and develop department associates in customer service, product knowledge, and merchandising, and lead, coach, and motivate colleagues to improve productivity, engagement, and retention.
  3. Merchandising and Inventory Management: Ensure that merchandise is stocked, displayed, and priced appropriately, and monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstocking.
  4. Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving any issues in a timely and professional manner.
  5. Store Operations: Communicate regularly with store management and other department managers to ensure store-wide goals are being met, and be constantly on the lookout for great talent to join our team.
Requirements
  1. Education: High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred.
  2. Experience: Previous retail management experience, preferably in a departmental or specialty store setting.
  3. Skills: Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and develop associates; excellent organizational and time management skills; ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends; proficiency in basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office; knowledge of retail operations, including merchandising, inventory management, and customer service.
  4. Physical Demands: Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
