About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Meat Processing Assistant to join our team at Fat Kee Fresh Meat Calgary Ltd. As a key member of our butcher shop team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the highest quality of meat products for our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Prepare Meats: Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting, ensuring they meet our high standards of quality and safety.
  • Cut and Trim Meat: Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat for our customers, using our state-of-the-art equipment.
  • Wrap and Package Meats: Wrap and package prepared meats for sale, ensuring they are presented in an attractive and appealing manner.
  • Remove Bones from Meat: Remove bones from meat to ensure our products are safe and of the highest quality.
  • Weigh Meats for Sale: Weigh meats for sale, ensuring accurate and consistent measurements.
  • Cut Poultry into Parts: Cut poultry into parts, using our specialized equipment and techniques.
Work Environment

As a Meat Processing Assistant, you will work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, surrounded by our experienced team of butchers and meat processors. You will be required to stand for extended periods, lift heavy loads, and work in a physically demanding environment.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: Will train.
  • Work Setting: Butcher shop, supermarket, and meat department.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Standing for extended periods, attention to detail, physically demanding, handling heavy loads, and hand-eye coordination.
