We are seeking a skilled and experienced Butcher and Meat Processor to join our team at Calgary E-Mart. As a key member of our meat department, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of meat products for our customers.
Key Responsibilities- Meat Preparation: Prepare special cuts of meat ordered by customers, cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat, remove bones from meat, cut poultry into parts, cut fish into steaks and fillets, and grind meats.
- Inventory Management: Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure that the meat department is well-stocked at all times.
- Training and Development: Train meat cutters and provide guidance on best practices for meat preparation and handling.
- Display and Presentation: Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products to attract customers and promote sales.
- Food Safety and Handling: Ensure that all meat products are handled and stored in accordance with food safety regulations and guidelines.
- Work Environment: Work in a fast-paced retail environment, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
- Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time
- 30 to 40 hours per week
- Permanent position
- English language required
