Position Overview

The role of a Meat Processing Assistant involves supporting the operations within a meat retail environment. This position is essential for maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness in meat preparation.

Educational Requirements
  • Completion of secondary (high) school graduation certificate is required.
Work Environment

  • Supermarkets with dedicated meat departments

Key Responsibilities

As a Meat Processing Assistant, your tasks will include:

  • Cleaning meats to ensure they are ready for processing or cutting.
  • Cutting, trimming, and preparing standard cuts of meat.
  • Wrapping and packaging prepared meats for sale.
  • Removing bones from various types of meat.
  • Weighing meats accurately for customer purchases.
  • Cutting poultry into appropriate parts.
Equipment Proficiency

Experience with the following equipment is beneficial:

  • Slicing machines
Physical Requirements

This position requires:

  • Ability to stand for extended periods.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Capability to handle physically demanding tasks.
  • Experience in handling heavy loads.
  • Good hand-eye coordination.
Experience Level

No prior experience is necessary as training will be provided. This is a permanent position with a work schedule of 30 to 44 hours per week. The primary working language is English.
