Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Appraisal Unit Manager to lead and manage our Auto Damage Appraisal Unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimizing unit performance by implementing training programs and developmental goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and Manage the Appraisal Unit: Develop and implement strategies to improve unit performance, productivity, and efficiency.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure that appraisals are conducted in accordance with service level agreements, internal protocols, and external legislative requirements.
  • Oversee Mitchell Estimatics: Address ongoing Mitchell issues and implement continuous change management to improve the appraisal process.
  • Liaise with PD Unit Managers: Collaborate with PD Unit Managers to ensure adherence to procedures and provide ongoing support to the PD Team.
  • Conduct Quality and Administrative Audits: Conduct audits of files, document findings, and report concerns/issues to senior management.
  • Accountability for Customer Experience: Take ownership of the customer experience delivered by the team, ensuring exceptional internal and external customer service.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Possess post-secondary education combined with comparable experience in the automotive collision repair or automotive mechanical repair industry.
  • Minimum 5 Years' Experience: Have a minimum of 5 years' experience as a Collision Estimator or Insurance Appraiser.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Possess Class A Motor Vehicle Technician or apprentice, Class B Body Repair Technician or apprentice, Certification in Motive Power Technology, or Basic Estimating Course.
  • Skills and Abilities: Demonstrate strong organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Technical Knowledge: Possess advanced technical knowledge of vehicle damage analysis.
  • Negotiation and Investigative Skills: Exhibit advanced negotiation skills and investigative logic.
  • Training and Development: Bring progressive experience in training, mentoring, and coaching employees.
