Kassen is seeking a seasoned Payroll Manager to oversee and optimize their payroll operations in both Canada and the United States. The ideal candidate will be a strategic leader with a strong operational focus, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive payroll strategy aligned with business objectives, ensuring seamless integration with HR and finance departments.
  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including data management, calculations, deductions, and tax filings for both Canadian and US employees, maintaining in-depth knowledge of federal, state/provincial, and local payroll tax laws and regulations.
  • Build and lead a high-performing payroll team, providing coaching, development, and performance management to ensure exceptional results.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline payroll processes, enhance efficiency, and reduce errors, leveraging payroll software effectively and recommending system enhancements.
  • Collaborate with HR, finance, and other departments to ensure seamless payroll operations, implementing and maintaining robust internal controls to safeguard payroll data and minimize risks.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive payroll management experience, with a strong emphasis on both Canadian and US payroll.
  • In-depth knowledge of Canadian and US payroll tax laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Proven experience managing and developing payroll teams, with a strong track record of process improvements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
