Business Valuation Expert

Meridia Recruitment Solutions is partnering with Ocean Capital Holdings Limited to find a highly skilled Business Valuation Expert to join their team in Saint John.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing business valuation services provided by independent valuation firms, preparing estimate level valuation reports for internal purposes, and supporting various projects and tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage services provided by independent business valuators, including interactions with company management, data management, review of draft reports, and finalization of reports.
  • Support the preparation of estimate level valuation reports for internal purposes.
  • Work closely with businesses to assist in gathering and organizing company data.
  • Identify, quantify, and communicate risks involved in valuation activities.
  • Contribute to special projects and ad-hoc analysis as required.

Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as business, finance, and accounting.
  • An interest in pursuing Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation or in the process of completing the designation.
  • CPA designation not required but considered an asset.
  • 3-5 years of experience in finance or related experience.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated experience with Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables and work independently with little guidance.
  • Strong organization and project management skills.
