The Managed Solutions Group, based in Toronto, is seeking a proactive, organized, and team-oriented individual to become part of our esteemed wealth management organization as a Solutions Advisor.

Your role will involve delivering exceptional service and support to our Advisor teams, enabling them to strengthen existing partnerships and equipping Advisors and Associates with effective strategies and concepts for informed decision-making regarding fee-based and managed services. As a crucial internal resource, you will be instrumental in providing immediate support to Advisors and Associates concerning investment management fees, software applications, and general program guidance for both discretionary and non-discretionary fee-based clients.

Key Responsibilities

Client Support (70%)

  • Offer comprehensive support to the field (Advisors, Associates, and Branches) for inquiries related to our Fee-Based and Managed Accounts through various communication channels.
  • Ensure timely responses to inquiries, typically within a 24-hour timeframe.
  • Oversee the application process for the Private Council (PC) USA Investment Representative.
  • Monitor and inform the field about any violations concerning PC USA PFIC (Passive Foreign Investment Company) and trading regulations.
  • Ensure accurate classification of investments from a fee billing perspective on a daily basis.
  • Escalate issues to the Associate Program Management team for resolution.
  • Facilitate educational calls on Managed Solutions Group programs and conduct quarterly presentations at training seminars for new Investment Advisors and Associates.
  • Generate ad-hoc reports as needed.

Application Assistance (30%)

  • Provide hands-on assistance to the field (Advisors, Associates, and Branches) on various supported applications, including the A+ Desktop, Target Allocation Calculator, Pricing Tool, and Investment Policy Statement Toolkit.

Qualifications

Essential Requirements

  • Comfortable managing multiple calls, video conferences, and emails daily.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the financial services sector, ideally with Dominion Securities.
  • Strong interpersonal abilities, including empathetic listening, coaching, and negotiation skills, along with excellent communication (both oral and written).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
  • Motivated, eager to learn, and capable of excelling in a high-performance setting.
  • CFA Level 1 or CIM, or a solid understanding of trading securities.
  • Advanced proficiency in computer applications, particularly Excel.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in both English and French.
  • Experience in front or back-office roles with PIM and/or A+ programs.
  • Background in a Dominion Securities Retail branch environment, preferably within a discretionary team (3+ years' experience), with familiarity in processes, technology, products, and services.
  • Experience in an RBC Head Office support or training role, collaborating with advisors in fee-based programs.
  • Strong analytical, prioritization, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on customer service.
  • Enjoyment of both the technical aspects of investment management and the systems that support it, along with a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.
