Senior Financial Analyst, Wealth Strategy

The Role:

Reporting directly to the Senior Vice-President of Wealth Strategy & Advisor Enablement, the Senior Financial Analyst, Wealth Strategy will play a crucial role in developing and sustaining the firm's data analytics framework and reporting capabilities.

The successful candidate will possess a robust understanding of the Canadian Wealth Management sector, including key concepts related to unique Assets Under Administration (AUA), revenue models, Advisor Compensation structures, and advisor code frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Continuously develop and manage Wellington-Altus Private Wealth's internal data analytics framework at both the firm and advisor levels (MS Excel), including the integration of new data queries into the master reporting file and the creation of new reporting views as requested by the SVP Wealth Strategy or the Executive Committee.
  • Prepare a comprehensive monthly reporting suite for the Executive Committee, Regional Managers, Advisor teams, and other business line stakeholders, which includes monthly file updates, team and advisor code mapping, source data revisions, and the addition of newly onboarded teams across the entire reporting file, along with the creation and distribution of PDF reports to all stakeholders.
  • Conduct ad hoc data analyses and reporting to support policy discussions and respond to data requests from the Executive Committee, Regional Managers, and Advisors.
  • Develop and maintain financial modeling spreadsheets.
  • Assist in the ongoing management of Advisor Compensation policies, including tracking monthly Commission Payouts and Office Efficiency Policy chargebacks.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A bachelor's degree or diploma in finance, accounting, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a wealth management capacity; experience in an analytical role or within a product support function is preferred.
  • CPA designation is highly regarded.
  • CSC certification is an asset.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel is essential, with experience in data management, including maintaining structured data environments and working with complex data sets.
  • Proficiency in the MS Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.
  • Experience with Power BI is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and collaborate across various platforms (in-person, over the phone, and virtually).
  • A demonstrated commitment to accountability, reliability, adaptability, and innovation in daily tasks and long-term objectives.
  • The ability to uphold the highest standards of confidentiality.
