Senior Financial Analyst

POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting directly to the Director of Financial Reporting, the Senior Financial Analyst plays a pivotal role in generating comprehensive financial analysis and reporting for senior leadership, stakeholders, and financial partners. This position is essential for identifying key trends, risks, and opportunities that inform strategic business decisions.

The successful candidate will ensure the precision and reliability of financial records while also developing and disseminating accounting policies throughout the organization.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Create and present high-level financial performance reports, visual presentations, and dashboards.
  • Perform variance analysis, assess cost structures, and pinpoint trends, risks, and potential cost-saving measures.
  • Prepare statutory financial statements on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Support year-end audit processes by providing necessary documentation and assistance.
  • Contribute to the development of accounting policies within the organization.
  • Assist with corporate tax matters and insurance-related issues.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to optimize accounting processes, improve efficiency, and enhance internal controls by applying best practices.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • CPA designation is required.

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Background in an accounting firm is preferred.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and French is necessary for effective communication with stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles (GAAP for private enterprises), consolidation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail, capable of interpreting financial data and trends.
  • Exceptional organizational abilities, including the capacity to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently when required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Self-driven and proactive, with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with Microsoft D365 Business is an asset.
