Role Overview

The Lead Financial Planning Analyst will play a crucial role in delivering comprehensive insights into the financial performance of the organization on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. This position will also support forecasting initiatives and advanced analytical efforts. As a key business partner, the Lead Analyst will collaborate with various business units, utilizing resources across the company to identify actionable insights that inform strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct variance analyses and validate data for periodic divisional reports submitted to the Corporate team. The Lead Analyst will be responsible for assessing divisional performance against prior periods and budgets, preparing monthly performance reports for senior leadership.
  • Engage in divisional monthly discussions with finance teams to validate results. Proactively ask questions during these discussions and organize additional calls or emails as necessary to gather more detailed information.
  • Act as a financial partner to the respective divisions' finance teams.
  • Contribute to the preparation of quarterly and annual public financial statements, particularly the Management Discussion & Analysis and supporting documents for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Assist in the development of the consolidated annual budgeting process and the accompanying presentations for senior management and the Board of Directors.
  • Support the creation of annual reporting documents, including the Annual Information Form and other relevant materials.
  • Help compile documentation required for both internal and external audits.
  • Generate structured analyses and ad hoc reports as requested by management.
  • Participate in gathering information and preparing supporting documentation for auditors.
  • Engage in identifying and implementing continuous improvement initiatives related to financial processes and analytical models.
  • Contribute to special projects involving corporate accounting.
  • Support the professional development of team members.

Qualifications:

  • CPA Certification is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills, attention to detail, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills in both spoken and written English and French.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Familiarity with SAP and Workiva is considered an asset.

In this role, effective communication and collaboration in English, both orally and in writing, with colleagues and stakeholders across various regions will be essential.
