Meridia Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a dynamic media company to find a talented and experienced Director of Finance. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to contribute to a growing organization that values community engagement and strives for excellence in broadcasting, marketing, and employment.

Reporting directly to the President, the Director of Finance will play a pivotal role on the executive team, collaborating to develop strategic plans and maximize long-term profitability. You will oversee all financial operations, ensuring accurate reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the annual financial cycles, working closely with the President to ensure optimal financial performance.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to develop a compelling long-term vision that drives value creation for the business.
  • Manage and oversee all aspects of financial planning and reporting, including operating budgets, capital expenditures, monthly financial statements, project profitability analysis, and year-end reporting.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering their growth and development.
  • Review financial results and reports prepared by the Senior Accountant, providing guidance and support to enhance their capabilities.
  • Cultivate a high-performing team environment through coaching, feedback, and mentorship, ensuring clear goals and accountability for achieving objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including GST/HST, payroll, and corporate income tax requirements.
  • Drive operational excellence by implementing new systems and process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Support internal and external audit processes effectively.
Qualifications:
  • Undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant field.
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive accounting experience post-CPA designation.
  • Proven experience leading financial and/or accounting departments.
  • Experience with mid-market to top-tier ERP systems.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
