Job Summary

We are seeking a Seasonal Customer Experience Ambassador to join our team at Indigo Books & Music. As a key member of our sales floor team, you will be responsible for creating a warm and welcoming environment for our customers, providing exceptional customer service, and promoting our products and services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment in our stores
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Promote our products and services, leveraging our product to tell stories and create engaging experiences for our customers
  • Engage and connect with our customers on the sales floor, building relationships and fostering a sense of community
  • Curate specific product collections for each customer, providing personalized recommendations and solutions
  • Ensure Visual Standards are followed and maintained, creating a visually appealing and engaging store environment
  • Role model Indigo's High Performance Characteristics, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and customer satisfaction
  • Seek information regarding new products, promotions, and programs, staying up-to-date on the latest developments and trends
  • Contribute to an environment where everyone knows their health and safety is a top priority, actively participating in ensuring the health and safety of each other and our customers
  • Take accountability to respond to customer feedback in a timely manner, using it as an opportunity to learn and improve
  • Hold self and others accountable, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and collaboration
  • Own self-development, seeking out opportunities for growth and continuous feedback from colleagues and leadership
  • Share ideas with leadership on how to improve the employee and customer experience, fostering a culture of innovation and improvement

Requirements

  • Experience in specialty retail or a retail environment preferred but not required
  • Adaptability, flexibility, and a willingness to learn new things and be exposed to all aspects of the store
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating an exceptional employee and customer experience
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift medium to large items, up to 40 pounds, while using appropriate equipment and safety techniques
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, holidays, overnights, and early mornings (if required for the role)
