Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated individual with a strong focus on client service to fill a pivotal role within our organization. Flexibility in working hours during the summer months may be available.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and ensure accuracy in tax filings, including T1, T2, T3, and T5013 returns prepared by team members.
  • Provide tax planning advice to clients, helping them navigate complex tax issues.
  • Conduct research on tax-related matters and draft comprehensive memoranda.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancing client services.
  • Participate in special projects and engagements as required.
  • Foster and develop community relationships and networks.
  • Supervise and mentor staff within the tax department, offering guidance and support to enhance their tax knowledge.
  • Prepare and deliver technical training sessions for team members.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in public accounting with a specialization in taxation, along with a professional designation.
  • Bilingual proficiency is essential.
  • Completion or active pursuit of the CICA In-depth tax course.
  • Strong technical understanding of Canadian tax regulations.
  • Ability to deliver value-added services to clients.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP requirements related to tax provisions.
  • Proficiency in software tools such as Caseware and Taxprep.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
  • A solid work ethic with the capability to work independently and collaboratively.
