GHD is seeking a highly skilled Lead Waste Management Engineer to join our North American team. As a key member of our waste management team, you will be responsible for leading complex projects, mentoring junior staff, and driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead waste and energy solutions projects for municipal and private clients, including permitting, detailed design, construction management, and operations support.
  • Complete peer reviews of designs completed by other team members.
  • Establish and maintain long-lasting client relationships with municipal and private clients and prospects.
  • Provide mentorship to intermediate and junior technical staff across North America.
  • Lead technical approach development for new project proposals.
  • Undertake liaison activities with regulators.
  • Provide leadership in the growth and direction of the North American Team.

Requirements:

  • Engineer with a degree in Ontario, accreditation in other jurisdictions is an asset.
  • 15+ years of experience in the solid waste industry.
  • Minimum of 10 years' experience in a consulting role.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license with driving record in good standing.
  • Willingness and ability for occasional project travel and oversight of field work by team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint.
  • Working understanding of Autodesk AutoCAD or Civil 3D an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills and ability to work in a highly-skilled and diversified project team.
  • Experience in landfill and landfill gas, transfer station, and waste facility design. Experience with organic waste processing, waste processing technologies, and energy projects is considered an asset.
