Job Overview

Jensen Hughes is currently seeking a Process Safety Specialist to lead various engineering projects in industrial environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and overseeing projects related to process hazard analysis, process safety management, dust hazard analysis, and Quantitative Risk Analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee projects related to PHA, DHA, QRA, and PSM
  • Coordinate process safety audit activities and ensure compliance with industry standards
  • Engage in business development with new and existing clients to identify opportunities for growth and expansion
  • Collaborate with internal resources on strategic plans to drive business success
  • Participate in industry organizations and contribute to the development of best practices
  • Develop tools and resources for internal staff use to enhance their skills and knowledge
  • Provide training and mentorship for staff and new hires to ensure they have the necessary skills and expertise
  • Contribute as an expert in niche areas and provide guidance and support to colleagues

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field, with at least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) certification with APEGA required
  • Preferred certifications: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), ISHM
  • Experience with PHA software and a strong understanding of process safety principles
  • Strong communication skills for various audiences, including technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of PSM elements and PHA techniques, as well as experience in specialized safety areas
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry developments
  • Ability to travel up to 35% of the time to support business needs
